At Santa Cruz International School, horseback riding isn’t just an extracurricular—it’s part of our core identity. With the creation of the SCIS Riding Academy, we’ve become the first and only school in Bolivia to integrate horseback riding into the academic curriculum. Students from Primary onwards can choose riding as their Physical Education subject, connecting with nature while developing physically, emotionally, and socially through equestrian sport.
A Unique Learning Experience
Our riding classes go far beyond riding skills. Students explore horse care, anatomy, handling, and equestrian ethics through a blend of theory and practice. Lessons are held both in a dedicated classroom with audiovisual resources and outdoors in our sand and grass arenas—all surrounded by nature for a calm and inspiring learning environment.
Riding at SCIS nurtures confidence, discipline, empathy, and a powerful connection with animals and the environment.
